This is why:
Although I have provided
illustrations for the front and back covers of this book, as
well as some pictures inside the book, I have not been
paid one single cent from the publishers,
E & E Publishing, ever.
The book was published April 2005. I
see the book being sold on Amazon since 2005, and I receive
emails from people who purchased the book online.
But to this day in 2008, there has not
been any compensation or royalty whatsoever.
Even though I have a
signed contract with
E & E Publishing, I don't know what to do
since my emails to them are
basically ignored. There's no way for me to find out how many
of these books have been sold since I have not received any
statements of account from the publisher, as stated in the contract.
It pains me very much
because it took me many hours, and often days, and even
through the nights, to create some of these pictures. Truly,
it is a labor of love to create each piece. But now it has been sadly
abused, and I am really heart broken. I have been highly distraught and stressed over this
matter, but I place my trust in God, that He will guide me
through this.
In any case, I feel I
should let everyone know what has happened, and why I do not
feel right anymore about anyone buying this book. And I do so
regretfully, because it is a beautiful book, with incredible
pictures and charming poems. But revealing the truth
helps in the healing for me, and it may also help someone to
not suffer the same consequences that I did.

I hope you can speak April…
Perhaps a word or two.
I long to hear the sound of it.
Please try, I beg of you.
Talk to me of trillium,
Of honeysuckled birds,
Or speak of brassy buttercups.
I crave some April words!
Tell me how the honeybee
Spins, drunk, from jonquil doors.
Describe those sparkly sun flakes
That dance on forest floors.
Can you find “pine whispers”
In Nature’s language book?
Or see a bluebird pictured
Or translate babbling brook?
If in April you’re not fluent
Or you find March too passé,
Then lead me to a Poet
And we’ll speak a little May.
